Day One Spanish, episode ten of twenty — halfway, and the week two finale. Sport closes every bulletin, so today you learn its language: la selección (the national team), el partido (which means both 'the match' and 'the political party' — the news loves the joke), el gol, ganar and perder, esta noche. You also meet your first stem-changing verb: jugar becomes juega - the verb changes in the MIDDLE, not just the end. By the end you'll understand and say a real Spanish news sentence: La selección juega esta noche ante ochenta mil aficionados.
