Dimension X presents “The Martian Death March,” episode 34, originally broadcast on NBC on January 14, 1951. This original radio drama was written by Ernest Kinoy, with Norman Rose as announcer/narrator and a cast including Bill Zuckert.
On a human-conquered Mars in 1997, a young colonist recalls encountering spider-like Martians forced into Earth-imposed reservations. When refugees set out across the harsh red landscape toward their northern mountain homeland, he becomes caught up in a powerful journey of displacement, endurance, and human solidarity. The story’s forced-removal premise carries an allegorical echo of the Trail of Tears.
Old Time Sci-Fi Radio presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
