Dimension X, episode 32, “The Green Hills of Earth,” originally broadcast December 24, 1950. This NBC sustaining broadcast is a rebroadcast of the series’ June 10, 1950 production, adapted by Ernest Kinoy from Robert A. Heinlein’s celebrated short story.

Radiation-blinded spaceman Rhysling—known as the singing poet of the spaceways—travels the future Solar System carrying songs and memories of those who work among the stars. With Tom Glazer performing Rhysling’s music, this lyrical drama follows a final rocket voyage shaped by longing for Earth and fellowship aboard ship. Directed by Edward King and produced by William Welch.

Old Time Sci-Fi Radio presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
