Everyone knows that America allied with the Soviet Union to win World War II, but the relationship quickly soured. A large number of Soviet spies were discovered in the U.S., and Sen. Joseph McCarthy (R-Wisc.) began his famous crusade against communist infiltration in 1950. McCarthy died in 1957 with most conservatives admitting that his mission was not successful, but what are the implications of that failure? J. Wargo of the John Birch Society joins me to discuss.
