The San Diego Padres just keep winning.
San Diego erased an early 3-0 deficit and defeated the Cleveland Guardians 7-5 for its sixth consecutive victory and 16th win in the last 20 games.
Xander Bogaerts changed the game with a massive 426-foot two-run homer, Fernando Tatis Jr. tied it with a 404-foot blast, and Luis Campusano continued his scorching stretch with two doubles and three RBI — including the two-run double that gave San Diego the lead for good.
Michael King battled through six innings after a difficult start, while Yuki Matsui, Jeremiah Estrada and Bradley Rodriguez protected the lead. Rodriguez earned his first save after Craig Stammen and Ruben Niebla made the surprising decision to start him in the ninth instead of Mason Miller.
