A mere year later, Samara Weavingis back on Collider Ladies Night. After many conversations in different interview formats, Weaving made her Ladies Night debut for the release of the wonderfully twisted comedy thriller Borderline in March 2025. In most cases, an actor would be lucky to dish out a film or two by the next year, but not Weaving. In just the last three months, she headlined three different movies. Even better? Every single one of them is fantastic.
On March 20, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come hit theaters nationwide. Given the fact that the Ready or Not fanbase had been eagerly awaiting a sequel for seven years, the pressure was sky-high for it to deliver, and it did. Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett far exceeded expectations with the new film. Soon after that, it was Jorma Taccone’s remake of The Trip, Over Your Dead Body. Again, the pressure was on. The Trip came out a mere five years ago. Why do an American remake so soon? Like Ready or Not 2, the Over Your Dead Body team pulled it off. Taccone, Weaving, Jason Segel and the rest of the team managed to light up the screen with an edge-of-your seat genre bender that holds tight to its source material while giving it just enough of a fresh flavor to well justify another go-around with the story.
A little over a month after Over Your Dead Body hit theaters, Weaving is giving us yet another gem — Carolina Caroline.
From writer William Thomas Dean IV and director Adam Carter Rehmeier, Carolina Caroline stars Weaving as the title character. Caroline works as a gas station attendant in a small Texas town, but is itching for more. When she spots Kyle Gallner’s Oliver pulling a clever con on her boss, sparks fly. Caroline packs up and hits the road with Oliver, learning everything she can about pulling off lucrative scams. With each success, their crimes get bigger, making it more and more difficult to keep clear of the authorities.
With Carolina Caroline now playing in select theaters, Weaving returned to Collider Ladies Night to discuss her experience making the film, and to explain why this particular chapter of her career feels different.
