Swiss cinematographer and director Claudio von Planta is known for his work on the “Long Way” series with Ewan McGregor. The award-winning adventurer will present two of his latest works at the FEIT Film Festival in Melbourne on August 18 and 20. In the second part of our interview he talks about the format of the adventure documentary and what obstacles they needed to overcome during the filming of “Chasing the Peak.” Here, von Planta follows three Swiss engineers who convert a 7-ton diesel truck into a fully electric, solar-powered off-road vehicle and use it to drive on the highest volcano in the world in Chile. - Der Schweizer Kameramann und Regisseur Claudio von Planta wurde durch seine Arbeit an den „Long Way“-Serien mit Ewan McGregor bekannt. Der preisgekrönte Abenteurer präsentiert zwei seiner jüngsten Arbeiten am 18. und 20. August beim FEIT-Filmfestival in Melbourne. Im zweiten Teil unseres Gesprächs geht es um das Format der Abenteuer-Doku und welche Hindernisse es beim Filmen von „Chasing the Peak“ gegeben hat. Von Planta folgt darin drei Schweizer Ingenieuren, die einen 7-Tonnen Diesel Lkw in ein vollelektrisches, solarbetriebenes Geländefahrzeug umbauen und damit in Chile den höchsten Vulkan der Welt befahren.
