A Wairarapa cafe has beaten more than 200 competitors to be the supreme winner of the Great New Zealand Toastie Takeover. The Offering in Greytown has won the honour for its Holy Smoke toastie... which is filled with slow-smoked brisket, pastrami, bacon jam, pickles, cheese, sauerkraut and smoked mustard aioli and dusted with parmesan cheese. Bevan Morland - who owns The Offering and created the winning toastie - spoke to John Campbell.
