In this episode, we trace the rise of the Zaydi imamate in Yemen, from its origins in the ninth century with al-Hadi ila'l-Haqq and the Banu al-Rassi family in Saada, to its consolidation of power in the highlands and the eventual move of the imamic seat to Sanaa.
