Project ARTICHOKE: The CIA Program That Came Before MKUltra

Before MKUltra became the public name for CIA behavioral experimentation, Project BLUEBIRD and Project ARTICHOKE had already moved the Agency into secret research on drug-assisted interrogation, hypnosis, simulated medical settings, covert chemical administration, and attempts to affect memory.
