Strait of Hormuz Attack, ABC Sues the FCC & Republicans Face Trouble in Iowa

A deadly attack on a vessel exiting the Strait of Hormuz is raising new concerns as the war in Iran approaches the six-month mark. Jon Decker reports on the attack, the damage to the ship and the continuing crisis surrounding one of the world's most important oil shipping routes.

With the previous U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding now expired and negotiations over reopening the Strait of Hormuz in limbo, the conflict continues to put pressure on global energy markets and drive oil and gas prices higher.

Also, ABC is suing the Federal Communications Commission, alleging that the FCC's challenge to its broadcast licenses is an unlawful effort to restrict the network's speech. The legal battle comes amid an escalating dispute involving ABC, Disney, FCC Chairman Brendan Carr, DEI initiatives and the network's programming, including The View.

Plus, Iowa is becoming an unexpected 2026 midterm battleground. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and other Trump administration officials are traveling to the state as Republicans defend competitive races for governor, Congress and an open U.S. Senate seat.
