We're in Sacramento, California for part one of our two part dive into the disturbing story of Dorothea Puente and the house that would become known as the "Dorothea Puente Murder House"


To her neighbors, Dorothea Puente was a sweet, grandmotherly woman who opened her home to those who had nowhere else to go. Behind the doors of her seemingly ordinary boarding house, Dorothea was hiding a much darker history. Years of fraud, theft, manipulation, and poisoning would eventually escalate into murder as the vulnerable people placed in her care began mysteriously disappearing.


Who was Dorothea Puente before she became one of Sacramento's most infamous killers? How did she manage to get away with her crimes for so long? Just how many victims may have crossed paths with the seemingly harmless landlady?
