On September 14, 2007, 14-year-old Andrew Gosden left his Doncaster home as if heading to school, doubled back once his family left, changed clothes, withdrew £200 in cash, and bought a one-way train ticket to London. CCTV cameras caught him arriving alone at King's Cross Station. After he walked out of that station, he was never seen again. Andrew was described as academically brilliant, deeply private, and deeply reserved. He left behind his charger and packed almost nothing — as if he hadn't planned to be gone long. In one of the most surveilled cities in the world, a boy simply vanished.
