The Phillies have fallen into a tie for the final NL Wild Card

The Phillies grounded into four double plays on Tuesday night. They lost to the Cardinals, 2-0.

It’s the 27th time this season they’ve been held to one run or shut out. Only the A’s have done that more. But Tuesday’s loss also dropped the Phillies into a three-way tie with the Diamondbacks and Padres for the final two NL Wild Card spots.

Luis Arraez is hitless in his last 16 at-bats. Bryce Harper has a sore left knee. The Phillies’ bullpen is running on fumes. Cristopher Sánchez ran out of gas. But other than than, everything is great.
