The Texas Rangers stayed surprisingly quiet at the MLB trade deadline, but President of Baseball Operations Chris Young believes standing pat was the right move. Instead of making splashy deals, Texas preserved its top prospects, added bullpen depth, and kept its core together for the stretch run.
The Rangers also received a major vote of confidence from Jacob deGrom, who confirmed he did not waive his no-trade clause because he believes this team can still win now and in the future. With about 50 games remaining and injured players expected to return, Texas is betting on its current roster rather than a deadline overhaul.
