Forrest, Conan Neutron, Kristina Oakes and FreddyG discuss Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight
Last week, we did the 2005 Batman origin story.. Batman Begins. Christopher Nolan's first entry in a grittier, realier, darker Batman series after decades of more campy and cartoonish portrayals.
However, it was the Dark Knight in 2008 that really was the gem in the Batman crown for Nolan's trilogy.
Coming at an incredibly pivotal year in American History, with the winds of change hopefully in the air, the Dark Knight blew up like a discourse bomb, inspiring like Batman himself, dozens of copycats and changing the trajectory of the "Superhero Movie" by being more crime movie than comic book movie.
Of all the performances, Heath Ledger who actually died six months before the movie finally came out, stole the show as the chaotic and nihilistic Joker who manages to get all Gotham's Organized Crime under his thumb without them realizing what they've unleashed.
Starring Christian Bale, Heath Ledger as the Joker, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Maggie Gylenhaal as Rachel, Gary Oldman, and Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent.
FreddyG is a stand up comedian who hosts the monthly stand up show "Paid Protest Comedy" with Anders Lee and Kate Willett and Nonye Brown-West as well as doing content creation for Track AIPAC.
Conan is ONCE AGAIN going on tour to the West Coast from August 26th to September 5th https://www.songkick.com/artists/8525203-conan-neutron-and-the-secret-friends
