Florida State head coach Mike Norvell met with the media Wednesday morning following a shortened practice built around situational football — roughly 18 periods with a heavy two-minute and end-of-game emphasis.

Norvell opened by announcing that defensive back Karson Hobbs went down with an injury Tuesday and will miss the season. He also offered updates across the roster: quarterback Ashton Daniels turning in what Norvell called one of his best days of camp, Malachi Marshall taking live reps in Sunday's scrimmage, Micahi Danzy's growth as a route runner, and Jayvan Boggs returning to practice this week.

Also covered: secondary depth behind the top four, with Ricky Knight III emerging at corner; Kevin Wynn's offseason weight loss and its effect on his pass rush; a tight end room Norvell said could put two or three players on the field at once; the running back rotation; an offensive line working through limited bodies as the staff narrows its group; and the physicality Rylan Kennedy has shown against the run.
