Kyle Schwarber hits TWO HOMERS as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Minnesota Twins, 7-1!
Schwarber got the party started for the Phillies and their fans who made the trip to Iowa. Schwarber smacked a solo homer to right to lead off the game. Then Bryson Stott followed in the 1st with an RBI single that brought Bryce Harper home.
Brooks Keaschall got the Twins on the board in the 2nd with a solo homer to left.
The Phillies added three more in the top of the 4th inning, Keaschall had went back on an deep fly ball from Schwarber to right field. Keaschall leap in the air at the wall, reached back and the ball JUST glanced off the side of his glove. Instead of the third out of the inning, Schwarber hit his second homer of the game, a two-run shot. Phillies then added an RBI single from Bryce Harper in the inning to take a 5-1 lead.
Brandon Marsh added another two runs in the 7th with a two-run homer to right.
Aaron Nola tossed five innings of one-run baseball allowing five hits and three walks. The only run he surrendered came on the homer by Keaschall in the 2nd. Nola faced some trouble in the 5th, as he loaded the bases with two outs, but punched out Royce Lewis on a 0-2 KC for his 9th strike out of the night.
