In March 2022, Kouri Richins told police she found her husband, Eric, unconscious after serving him a Moscow Mule, but an autopsy found he had ingested five times the lethal dose of fentanyl. Investigations showed she had taken out nearly $2 million in life insurance on Eric, and searched online for lethal fentanyl doses and “luxury prisons.”
