Doug Moss: former airline pilot and safety consultant on the jets that flew too low over the All Blacks v Springboks game

Dela

The pre-match flyover by two jets ahead of the All Blacks test in Cape Town over the weekend has raised some safety concerns among experts.

The jets swept over DHL Stadium before kick-off, and people observed that the jets flew quite low - prompting divided reactions among rugby fans.

Former airline pilot and safety consultant Doug Moss said the jets appeared to be 50 feet away from the top of the structure - and quite close to the people in the stands.

"Normally, they require about 300 meters away from people... they flew a lot closer than what's normally allowed."
