Residents who were in the process of selling their houses to NZTA for the Mill Road upgrade have been told via email the deal is off, but have not been advised on when the deal will be back on.

"If the project is not shovel ready, then the New Zealand Transport Agency should simply be renting those houses out to people on a temporary basis until such time as the project is shovel-ready," Auckland City Councillor Daniel Newman told Heather du Plessis-Allan.
