It's a fun August Day of news around the Association. First, Kevin Garnett's long-awaited (and for a variety of reasons, long overdue) Minnesota Timberwolves jersey retirement day has been set, appropriately against the visiting Boston Celtics, the team KG left Minneapolis for in order to finally break through and win a title. But by his own admission, the greatest T-Wolf in franchise history never lost his love for his former squad (if not his former squad owner), so it's awesome to see an all-time NBA great (much less Minny icon) properly celebrated.
From there, a look at who's getting inducted in the Hall of Fame this weekend, and which names could soon join the likes of Amar'e Stoudemire, Doc Rivers, Candace Parker, Chamique Holdsclaw, and Mike D'Antoni (among others).
From there, a look at how a trade sending Dennis Schröder to the Hornets opens up some apron-related breathing room for the Cavaliers, and whether it could be a step towards a sign-and-trade involving Peyton Watson or Jonathan Kuminga.
